"Oh to be a cat 3" Twilight Criterium
Just a quick update, I raced at Thompson last night with Wild Bill. The prereg. list was short, but the day of racers fill out the field nicely. I raced the masters first, which was a ton of fun. The track has high banking (for New England) and is quite wide. It seemed as if the pack was chasing a break every lap. I took the opportunity to do some work, almost cooking myself. With a field full of crit specialists and strong sprinters, I placed 8Th. The cat 3/4 race was immediately after the masters. I took a bunch of laps drafting off the back trying to recover. After about 5 laps I felt much better, and again had a blast racing and moving through the pack, ending with 12Th spot.
